Stained glass & painting. Reykjavík, since 1968.
Leifur Breiðfjörð has made stained glass for churches and public buildings in Iceland and abroad since 1968 — among them the Robert Burns memorial window at St Giles' Cathedral in Edinburgh, and a window marking the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II at Southwark Cathedral in London. He also works in oil, watercolour and pastel, and with his wife Sigríður Jóhannsdóttir in woven textile.
The first Icelandic artist to specialise in stained glass, Leifur Breiðfjörð has made windows for churches and public buildings at home and abroad since 1968 — alongside a lifelong practice in painting, drawing and textile.
